Multi-currency

Sell abroad, hold other currencies, report in pounds

Invoice a customer in euros, keep dollars in a currency account, and still see one clear picture in pounds. Telore records the exchange rate it used for every figure and works out the gain or loss when the money arrives.

Invoices in the customer's currency

A euro invoice is a euro invoice, with its VAT shown in pounds where the rules require it. What is owed is tracked in both currencies.

  • Any of the major currencies
  • VAT in sterling on foreign VAT invoices
  • What a customer owes, never mixed across currencies

Balances in every currency

Balances in other currencies are read in the currency you hold them in and valued in pounds every day.

  • Daily valuation in pounds
  • Money moved between currencies paired, not double counted
  • Fees on conversions kept as costs

Gains and losses worked out

When a euro invoice is paid at a different rate from the day it was raised, the difference is a real gain or loss. Telore records it and shows the working.

  • Realised gains and losses on payment
  • Year-end revaluation where the rules ask for it
  • Every rate and its date visible

How it works

  1. Step 1: Raise or receive

Invoice in any currency, or receive money into a foreign balance.

  2. Step 2: Value

Telore applies the day's rate and shows which one it used.

  3. Step 3: Settle

When the money lands, the gain or loss is recorded on its own line.

Questions

Questions people ask

From a recognised reference rate source, applied by date. The rate used is shown beside the figure so your accountant can check it.

A VAT invoice in another currency also shows the VAT in pounds, as HMRC requires. Telore will not send one until that figure is in.
